FW26 Shanxi

The collection

This collection draws inspiration from the ancient architecture, murals, and caisson ceilings of Shanxi, exploring time, permanence, and the emotional atmosphere shaped by history. Shanxi holds more than 28,000 ancient architectural sites and over 685 temples—spaces where human devotion, craftsmanship, and cultural memory have settled across centuries.

The collection translates these architectural spirits into wearable form. Roof ridges inspire sculptural skirt silhouettes; temple eaves inform controlled structural lines; relaxed lapels reinterpret the gentle, contemplative gesture seen in clay Buddha sculptures. Murals inspire floating auspicious ribbons and symbolic motifs, while window lattice patterns evolve into layered flocked textiles with contemporary halftone treatments.

Rather than preserving tradition as nostalgia, the collection treats heritage as living structure—solemn, grounded, and enduring. It is a dialogue between architecture and the body, between history and present life, between what time erodes and what time protects.
